Igor (September 2010)
Hurricane Igor’s impact on Newfoundland and Labrador was profound, both in terms of physical damage and the lessons learned.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center began monitoring a tropical depression on September 12 that eventually became Tropical Storm Fiona on September 15, 2022. The storm increased in intensity as it moved through the southern Atlantic attaining category 4 status.
Prior to making landfall in Nova Scotia, Hurricane Fiona was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone. Despite the change, it was one of the most impactful storms ever to hit Atlantic Canada.
